Another update

We went to Cranial Technologies last Monday. It was a long drive to Clinton CT but an informative one. The first thing they did was take pictures of Elijah at various angles and then took vital measurements of his noggin. Then we sat down and talked with the staff.

The pictures really were eye opening because I was able to see the issues more clearly. As far as measurements go, the flat side of Elijahs head is 17mm different than the other. Everyone has a difference of between 0-3 mm. 15 or more is considered severe Plagiocephaly. His ears are misaligned by 5mm and his eyes by 2mm. They definately recommended the DOC band. We now have to hear back from our insurance company to see whether or not they will cover any of this because many consider it cosmetic and not medically necessary.
Once we find out we can move on to have Elijah's head casted to make a mold. They send that away and 10-14 days later the band comes back. He will wear that for 8-10 weeks until he grows out of it and then he will be remeasured.
