Happenings in the Moskowitz household

Aahh how the time flies when you are keeping busy. Here is a long awaited update.

Elijah is now 4 months old. At his dr's visit he weighed in at 17lbs and is now 27 inches long. He is quite the strong boy and loves to hang out in his jumperoo imitating Tigger. Hannah is still being a big sister and helping out if she is asked niced enough.

The holidays are over and they were nice and relaxing. We went to my mom;s house on Christmas eve and enjoyed our nice feast that she cooked for us including our spiral ham and german cream potatoes.
Elijah at my moms house.

Christmas day we went to Aunt Patti's to catch up and again feast away. Hannah loved playing with her cousins Samantha and Julia.

Using some of the new goodies that I received for Hanukkah

Practicing a little Digital Painting.

Other than that the days have been filled with working. I am officially registered with school and start my online classes next week.

Hannah just went to NYC with Aunt Cyndi, Uncle Todd. Dad, Papa and another family to see Lion King on Broadway, her first official broadway play. She had a blast although the next day she woke up with a stomach bug that has since past to Elijah yesterday and myself today.

And it continues

As of January 1rst I will be back in school. I am working towards my bachelors in nursing. Luckily all of this will be online. I could not waste the opportunity as my job pays for it which is nice without having to give them any years of service in return.

Hanukkah has begun and we are having a good time. It has been very low key which is nice.

These blog updates may have to become a weekly occurance. However I promise to provide good pictures!! Is that a compromise? Work has been quite busy but I continue to learn something new each and every day.

This week I found out that 2 people that I took care of quite often passed away. The first lady had cancer and I took care of her the day she came into the ER. Then when I went to the ICU for 2 weeks she was there and I was able to continue taking care of her. 2 days after I left the ICU she passed away. Most deaths that I encounter are in the ER with pt's that we usually do not get to build relationships with. It does not make death any easier, but I think it protects us from being worn down each time. I take pride in taking care of each patient the same and making them feel safe and secure while I am taking care of them.

Tomm night at sundown is the first night of Hannukah. We are a little behind on getting all of our decorations up but out menorah is ready! And Hannah of course is ready too!!

Happy Turkey day

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Turkey day. We were very Thankful to be part of the festivities at Cyndi's house. She cooked a wonderful turkey and was a great hostess as usual. The kids had a great time, although I think Elijah felt left out not being able to gobble up anything.

I spent the last 2 weeks working in the ICU as part of my orientation. From that experience I can for sure say that I am thankful for my health and the health of all of those that are around me. Working in the acute care setting you definately realize how quickly life can change and not to take life for granted.

I am thankful for a wonderful husband who is also a wonderful father who has been working hard at multi tasking while I am at work.

The weather is turning and time continues to fly by. the kids are growing up quicker than we had ever imagined. Next week Hannah will turn 6. Where has the time gone??? Elijah turned 12 weeks old this past Tuesday.

On Veterans day we went to Nana and Papa's house. Hannah and I decided to head out to the castle playground and then to the bridge at Lover's Leap State park. It was my attempt to take some pictures before it gets too cold to go outside.

I think they did a wonderful job restoring this bridge. Hannah had a great time throwing leaves off into the river.

And of course I had to put one in of Elijah!

Here is a great video to show how animated Elijah has become!

These pictures are long overdue. These are from cousin Patti's wedding. We had a wonderful time. Oma came up from NY and stayed at Cyndi's house. The kids were able to spend quality one on one time her.

The ceremony was beautiful, everyone looked great in their dresses especially the bride. The reception was filled with lots of music and great food!

We have had a busy past couple of weeks. I am now back to work. Although I have been doing 4 hour shifts for 3 weeks now, This week was the first of 7 hour days. Tomm starts 8 hour days. David has been doing awesome getting up in the morning and everything seems to be working out well.

We had a nice Halloween. As always the weather stayed nice and mild. David took off for the night and the house was decorated nicely. We didn't have as many trick or treaters as we did last year.

Hannah of course had a wonderful time out and about, but I think she liked handing out candy even more.

Elijah has become so animated lately. He is starting to coo and talk and is a smiling fool. He is still sleeping through the night which is great. Hannah is still in love with him!

We definately got out wear out of Hannah's costume. We were able to go to her Karate Halloween Party, the Kids Halloween party at the hospital and then for actual halloween night.

2 month stats

We took Elijah to his pediatricians office yesterday for his weighin and first immunizations. You always worry about the "first time" that they get shots. Some babies scream bloody murder, other could care less. Elijah pretty much did his complaining-talk-cry, letting Dr Khera know he did NOT like what was dont with him, but he calmed right down afterwards.

1 month stats:
11lbs even
23 1/2 inches long

2 months stats:
13lbs 15 ounces
24 1/2 inches long

I know I know

SLACKER. It's ok you can call me on it. I just feel bad because I want to post and provide you all with pictures. Therefore I haven't posted. However I was busy hahaha. Weds and Fri I ventured back to work from 10am-2pm. Weds was a mad house!! All rooms were completely filled and many more int he waiting room. Yesterday was a much nicer atmosphere. Once or twice a week I will go in like this until November first. Once I go back to work full time I hope to include some "Stories from the ER" on here too. You learn a lot of life lessons when you work with sick pt's.

Later today I hope to have some pictures!!! We are going to Morris's company picnic on a farm. Should be a beautiful day for me to practice my photography skills :)

More pictures

Well I went out yesterday to take pictures of the kids. I didn't get any spectatcular shots, maybe because I was trying too hard. I did however get some great ones of my neighbors grandchildren, Brianna and Drew. I was quite proud of myself in fact :)

Pictures

As you may have noticed, I love taking pictures. I always did well with my film camera, but since getting the Rebel I really haven't been going creative with the manual settings. Well I am trying and reading up and working on editing with software. If money were no concern and I could do a side job I would love to have a little photo studio. Just like David would love to have a garage, one can dream.

Here are 2 pictures I took and worked on.

What do you want?

A Strong Man?

A Determined Man?

A Laid Back Kind Of Man?

Or A Man That Can Melt Your Heart With His Smile?

Welcome to the world Elijah

First off, I need to extend a sincere and HUGE thank you to Cyndi for hosting a most spectacular party, once again. I kept calling her the hostess with the mostest, but it really is true!!!! She cooked an incredible lasagna, meatballs, sausages. She also baked 2 peach pies, um from SCRATCH with the peaches she picked off her peach tree!! The Cabana was well stocked with refreshments and the pool was nice and warm.

Luckily the weather cooperated awesomely and it was still a great opportunity to catch a little sun. Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to all those who brought goodies to eat, and also goodies for the baby and Big sister Hannah.

But this entry would be priceless without pictures right?

Oma with her granson. Finally awake! Elijah has seemed to sleep through every encounter with Oma up until the party where they were able to spend some quality time together!
