We are back from our successful trip to Puerto Rico. It was an early rise on Sunday morning on our way to the airport. Luckily we had a car service drive us so we could
catch a few snoozes on the way to the airport. We were a little worried of course on how Elijah would do on his first flight, but as always he was a doll and flew like a champ. We arrived on time at my dad and Uncle Pedro met us at the airport in order to guide us back to Ponce, which was about an hour and a half drive.
The Hilton Ponce was wonderful. The rooms were nice and so were the accomodations. They even had their very own Casino.
Monday morning started off with lots of rain in the morning. By early afternoon however the sun decided to peak its way back out the door. My dad met us and we went into the historic Ponce center. We stopped at the best Gelato store and then went to the old fire house and saw the cathedral.
Later on that afternoon we went back to my dad;s house to meet my uncles and grandmother. And of course eat more food that she cooked. Elijah absolutely loved everyone!
Tuesday was David's birthday. My dad took us up into the mountains and down some very windy roads to a traditional local restaurant. Afterwards we went back to grandma's house for some more catching up and to meet grandma's sister Gloria.
Weds was a lazy day to hang by the pool.
Thursday we went to Gilligan Island, an island with white sand beaches, no inhabitants and quietness. It was the first time my dad has been there and in fact about 10 years since he was in the ocean.
And lastly here are some random pictures from the hotel.
